Was Great Gatsby an appropriate soundtrack for the movie?
Jay-Z has proven himself to be a multi-talented singer
and producer. As the producer behind The Great Gatsby, the soundtrack gave the
movie a modern day feel without compromising a classic story line. The
original inspiration behind this blog, Jay-Z’s Great Gatsby soundtrack, it was one of my personal favorites. However, some movie
goers would not agree with this statement. Some people thought the music took
away from the story line and almost acted as a distraction to the film.
A certain group of movie goers thought the music should have been more relevant to the times and more jazz and classical. With the recent American Music Award (AMA) nomination for Top Soundtrack, Do you agree with statement and the nomination? Why or why not? Do you think the AMA nomination was given solely because Jay-Z produced the soundtrack and not for the quality?
